The Urgent and the Important

“What is important is seldom urgent and what is urgent is seldom important.” — Dwight D. Eisenhower

The good news is that our personally important work of painting the cards of the Major Arcana has been moving forward in the midst of all the other important things that have been happening in the last few years; extended care and loss of my parents, large commission projects, the Covid-19 pandemic, the civil rights protests, and all the small, “urgent”, day-to-day distractions that plague everyone.

The bad news is that I am woefully behind in the blog posts describing our study and the inspiration behind the cards that will eventually become the companion book to the deck. It’s hard to stay focused when it seems like your personal world is turned upside down, and the actual world is burning. Regaining the momentum of study and writing is now the goal.

Here’s a sneak peek at the cards that we’ve completed recently. Thoughtful blog posts will follow as the world allows, but the project continues.
